2009 RHC Conference Call for Presentations

The NRHA is soliciting session proposals for the 2009 Rural Health Clinic (RHC) Conference taking place Oct. 5-6, 2009 in Portland, Oregon. This is an opportunity to share effective practices, policies and information and provide your colleagues with insights and best practices addressing many of the access, quality and patient safety issues confronted by clinics in rural areas. Please consider contributing a session! Entry deadline is January 9, 2009.

Our rural health clinic members have identified the following topics as being of particular interest this year, however, this list is not exhaustive, and we welcome submissions on all topics.

  • QAPI Models: Tools for Change
  • Clinical Excellence: Measuring Practitioner Quality and Productivity
  • Clinic Operations: Innovations and Best Practices in Employee Loyalty and/or patient satisfaction
  • Characteristics of a Great RHC: Measurement and Models, possibly using case studies
  • Digital Super-highway: Theories and Best Practices on information systems transformation of an RHC
  • Practitioner Recruitment and Retention: Recruitment Strategies that Work and Compensation Programs that Retain
  • Working With your Hospital: Either Freestanding or Provider-based tips on Aligning incentives and reducing duplication

The RHC Conference is an interactive experience designed specifically to meet the needs of RHC managers in both provider-based and freestanding settings. Submissions for presentations should be geared for at least one of the following session types:

  • General Sessions: General management or inspirational content suited to an audience that is diverse, including attendees from the Critical Access Hospital Conference on the last afternoon of sessions.
  • Breakout Sessions: Emphasis should be placed on breakout sessions that stress best practices from those actually working in or with a freestanding or provider-based RHC or group of RHCs. Attendees at previous meetings have identified great satisfaction with sessions that provide tools that can be taken home and used upon return to their RHC.

The RHC Conference is consistently one of the NRHA's highest-ranked conferences. Drawing approximately 200 attendees, this conference provides an opportunity for close, one-on-one networking and interactive learning. Share your story today!
