NRHA Social Media
Getting started in social media
Social media is all the rage, and at NRHA we are utilizing every tool to reach out to our members, find new allies, and connect rural health professionals from remote New Mexico to rural New Hampshire.
New to social media? Here are a few tips to get started.
- NRHA Connect is NRHA's free, members-only online networking site. If you are already a member, click here to get started and set up your account. If you have questions or would like to become a member, e-mail membership@NRHArural.org.
Once you've logged into your profile, you can personalize it with a photo, add professional and biographical information, and start searching for friends and colleagues. You might find connections with colleagues you never expected!
- Facebook is for everyone. To open an account, visit www.facebook.com. Enter your name, create a password, and don't forget to include your birthday so your friends can send you greetings. For tips on setting up your profile, try Facebook's official tips or this video guide.
Once you've signed up, click here to visit our fan page and show your support for NRHA.
- Twitter is the fastest-growing social networking site, and you're just a few steps away from experiencing the phenomenon. Visit www.twitter.com to get started. Once you've created your profile, look for interesting people to follow by searching for key words and visiting the profiles of tweets you like.

Get started by creating a free account at www.flickr.com. If you already have a Yahoo account, you can sign in with your password; if not, you can start an account for free. Click here for details on setting up an account.
Once you're set up, start uploading photos. We'd love for you to share your photos with us. You can place your photos in groups for specific events, such as NRHA Miami. Click here for instructions.
We look forward to seeing you around the virtual water cooler! Send us a tweet or become a fan on Facebook and say hello.
