3 ways to share your talents with NRHA


1. Win $400 in NRHA's first photo contest. NRHA’s Communications Committee has planned the association’s first photo contest, Rural Lens. NRHA is accepting photos in three categories – community outreach, people and landscape – through Aug. 15. “We all know that rural America is the most beautiful place on earth,” says Stacy Young, committee chair. “There’s nothing like sharing rural health pictures from scenery, community outreach and the wonderful people that serve our rural communities across the nation.” NRHA Facebook fans will select their favorite photos throughout September. The winner in each category will have their image featured in NRHA’s Rural Roads magazine, and the grand prize Rural Lens photographer will receive a $400 American Express gift card from the NRHA Partnership Program. Click here for submission details and contest rules. 2. Apply or nominate someone for a volunteer leadership position. NRHA is accepting applications and nominations for leadership positions within its Board of Trustees and Rural Health Congress, as well as editorial board positions for The Journal of Rural Health. For more information on nominations, the leadership structure of the board, and its development path, click here. Nominations are due by Sept. 4. And if you are interested in serving on the editorial board, or if you would like to nominate someone, click here. The deadline for applications is Sept. 30. 3. Apply to become a Rural Health Fellow. The goal of NRHA’s Rural Health Fellows program is to educate, develop and inspire a networked community of rural health leaders who will step forward to serve key positions in NRHA, affiliated rural health advocacy groups and local and state legislatures. “It was a wonderful experience that provided me with a better understanding of NRHA as well as rural health,” says 2011 Fellow Sally Buck.
