Special Offer: Spousal or Significant Other Travel and Lodging Subsidy

For students who interview at a “1-2” Rural Training Track residency program during this coming residency year 2012 – 2013 RTT residency programs will be offering a spousal or significant other travel and lodging subsidy of $250 or more to applicants who schedule interviews to be completed between October 1, 2012 and January 31, 2013. Simply ask about this benefit when scheduling your interview and provide receipts (e.g. airfare, car rental or mileage, baggage fees, lodging for the night prior to the interview) to the participating program. The program will not be able to reimburse you without the appropriate receipts. Any student, from any US or international medical school recognized by the ECFMG and who completes an interview with an RTT, is eligible for this reimbursement. Visit http://www.traindocsrural.org/?q=profiles for a list of eligible programs. This offer is made possible by a cooperative agreement between the Office of Rural Health Policy and the RTT Technical Assistance Program, a consortium of organizations committed to exposing students to rural training track residencies in family medicine, the best kept secret in graduate medical education! Questions regarding this opportunity should be directed to the National Rural Health Association at (202) 639-0550 or to Randall Longenecker MD, Project Director, at rlongenecker@embarqmail.com.
