“Obamacare ate my baby!”


The truth is out there. However, for now, confusion reigns around the Affordable Care Act, otherwise known as Obamacare. We are one week out from the launch of the new state Health Insurance Marketplaces (formerly Exchanges), the key component of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and uncertainty rules. Not just on the internet, or on TV, but everywhere. Members of Congress threaten to shut down the government if the law is not defunded. Seniors worry how the new law will impact their Medicare. Employees worry that that their employers will drop their health insurance in 2014. And rural providers are concerned how the new law will impact them. National Rural Health Association members will meet next week in Austin, Texas, for the Annual Rural Health Clinic and Critical Access Hospital Conferences. Exactly how ACA will impact rural communities will be the key topic of the conference, and attendees will hear from national experts on what to expect both this fall and into 2014.
