RHC and CAH conference call for presentations

The goal of NRHA’s Rural Health Clinic and Critical Access Hospital conferences is to share effective practices, policies and information and provide insights and best practices addressing many of the access, quality and patient safety issues confronted by CAHs and RHCs.
 
NRHA solicits session proposals for the Rural Health Clinic Conference and Critical Access Hospital Conference each year from late February to late May. These are opportunities to share effective models, policies, research and information, and provide attendees with insights and best practices addressing many of the issues confronted by rural communities. NRHA urges members to contribute a session abstract for consideration.
 
Sessions are selected by a panel of judges which changes from year-to-year. The application form includes a 50-word narrative which serves as the primary basis on which sessions are rated. A full slate of speakers, along with each speaker’s contact information must be submitted by the posted deadline. Entries containing “TBA” or other vague session or speaker information will be disqualified.
 
Five interest tracks are available for Critical Access Hospital Conference submissions: Alternative Pay Model (APM), financial, leadership, quality and Top 20 CAHs (reserved for 2017 Top 20 CAH award recipients. No vendors are eligible for the Top 20 category).

Presentation submission information and general instructions 
  • Submissions must meet all the requirements of the category. Incomplete submissions will not be reviewed. This includes missing speaker contact information.
  • Submissions must be received by the deadlines posted.
  • Do not send a paper submission. Only electronic abstracts will be accepted.
  • Notification of acceptance will be emailed in mid July.
  • Presentations may not market products or services; partner exhibit space is available for that purpose.
  • If accepted, presenters must register for the conference. As a small gesture of appreciation for the effort in preparing presentations, NRHA offers a limited-time discount on speakers’ registration fees. If speakers register and pay in full by the early-bird deadline, they will receive a 50 percent discount on registration fees. All registrations received after this deadline will be charged the full registration rate.
  • In addition, no honoraria or travel expense reimbursement will be provided for any presenter submitting through “call for presentations."
  • The standard audio/visual equipment provided by NRHA includes LCD projectors, screens and podium microphones. Computers, TV/VCRs, phone line/internet connections, or other A/V equipment will NOT necessarily be provided. If needed, it will be the responsibility of the presenters to make arrangements and provide payment for such equipment. Flip charts available upon request. Sessions are typically 75 minutes in length.
